So as promised, last night my friend John (who’s made periodic appearances on the blog before) had his 27th Birthday (Observed). The theme? You’ve just come from an awesome wedding.
I was thinking something along the lines of “Urban Chic Attire” except a bit more formal (i.e. something I would wear to a fancy, awesome, wedding).
I didn’t have any appropriate trousers to go with a tux jacket, so I twisted it. I went with my midnight blue tux pants and a white tropical wool jacket, notch lapels, so it’s not black/white tie formal, but the Tux pants and bow tie definitely kick it up a notch (or notch it up a scotch?).
And since I didn’t have any color I decided to put in a little blue (plus my only french cuff shirt is french blue, so it was kind of out of necessity). However, it also served to keep my entire top “!White!” with my bottom “!Black!” which I think would look to slickster. I kept the formal vibe with the french blue/gray/black/silver flower and a midnight blue pocket square. Black and silver cufflinks to finish off the wedding vibe.
Since A Fistful of Style would be nothing without A Few Styles More, the following pictures are of our night. I was feeling super swagged out in this outfit and we had a great time. I hope you enjoy looking at these pictures as much as we enjoyed taking them (props to my roomate for this particular pic).
