What’s up AFOS? What you wearing these days?
Sorry for the radio silence. WIWT’s are the least popular part of the blog and since I haven’t had a good screed against common wisdom lately, I’ve just been accruing a bunch of pictures of myself against a brick wall (also in a driveway).
So what have I been wearing this summer?
Simple outfits with some bracelets (I’d call them “man bracelets” or “mewlery” BUT BRACELET AND JEWELRY ARE NON GENDER SPECIFIC).

When I’ve been getting a bit more complex I’ll wear some vintage madras. Either a shirt or a jacket (or some pants, though not in these pics).

Oh, also I wore that ridiculous floral tie I own for First Friday. That was pretty fun.

If I did this again (and I will) I’d swap the matte pocket square for a silk one with some sheen. Otherwise I don’t think I’d change much.
Also, I’m glad I held onto my couple skinny cotton ties. I thought of getting rid of them, but figured they’d be useful for Mad Men themed parties, or if I happened upon an amazing vintage madras jacket.

Spring into Summer with A Fistful of Style.
Sorry I’ve been out for a second here. Busy week. Now it’s time for my cousin’s bachelor party, so if you’ll excuse me.

Thrifted?
With the exception of the charcoal trousers in the 3rd fit ($20 at Reny’s, “a Maine adventure”) everything I’m wearing is a true thrift store purchase.
Nice today.

While I love this shirt and this was very weather appropriate I think yellow and pale khaki look better on me in the late summer once I am slightly tan (which is as far as I tan no matter how much time I spend outside). As it stands, I look kind of washed out.
Though this is about as comfortable an outfit as you could look washed out in.

Perpetually Casual Friday.
One of my New Year’s Resolutions (I do my resolutions at my birthday because that’s where MY year begins) is to dress more “appropriately”.
Now don’t mistake this for “more conventionally”, “more conservatively” or “more plainly”. What I mean is today my plan is coffee, lunch with my cousin, grocery shopping, some misc. errands and helping Ashley set up her booth at Portland Flea-For-All. None of these things necessitate a tie. None need freshly shined shoes. And while none of the things I do in my day-to-day require a tie, I feel better at work when I’m a little dressed up, but that feeling gets diluted when I just throw on a tie to hit the grocery store.
Plus I have all this great vintage casual-wear that I used to try and shoehorn into more formal looks to no great effect. Better to keep the casual casual when it should be… you know… casual.
So for errands? Thrifting? Lunch? I’m moving toward nice, but truly casual. Leave the formality for the workplace and holidays.

Thrifted: (Whole Kit)
Vtg. “Career Club” Madras Shirt
Vtg. “Outerwear from the Sears Mens Store” Vest
Penguin Selvage Jeans
Eastland “Made in Maine” Ranger Mocs
Vtg. Anchor-Themed D-Ring Belt
So yesterday I made a big grab at autumn styling and fell flat on my face. Too hot, colors not quite right, weird formality in the styling… just a mess.
Tomorrow is Labor Day, so I’m going for broke in the “summer styling” department.
Bespoke cream Linen jacket? check
Orange gingham? check
Made in India Madras tie? check
yellow floral pocket square? check
dad jeans (or at least as close as I’m willing to tread to dad jeans)? check
sockless loafers? check
Now all I need is like, 20 mojitos to complete the look.
Either way, fall is coming. I’m planning on wearing white jeans from the 6th til it gets too cold. Just to be a dick.
Oh, and I’ve got big plans for Fall from A Fistful of Style. Suit week; dressing like a normie, vol. 2; Northern New England week; and more! Should be a good time. Stay tuned.
7th day of work in a row.
Weather can’t make up its mind.
I just want to play video games and let it rain.
PRL Madras, royal blue web belt, Raw Khaki 501’s, Blue Suede Shoes.
All thrifted.
I look so serious because it’s 90 fucking degrees outside.
All braided everything.
